THREE PIECE ADVICE

History says the greatest mistake in history to never learn from
History, with this I say welcome to the archives, where we draw from
the wealth of the past to understanding the givings of the future.

Expunging history from the curriculum has only led our nation into a
lurch.
James Robertson was the last Governor-General in Nigeria, and was
opportune to hand over to the Tafawa Balewa regime. He held Nigeria
high in his heart as he retired to his native land and said he awaited
news of our democracy waxing stronger and stronger. In his words,
Nigeria had a virile and active population, diverse economy and was a
proposed rich country, If she had luck and leaders were statesmanlike.
He gave his candid advice to then leaders and which the future should
have heeded
1. Unity of purpose: he posited that leaders of diverse areas to seek
for common good of all with unity of purpose and of heart. Urging them
to work in unison.
2. Dealing softly and fairly with opposition: then the western region
were the 'antagonist' of the federal government, because they felt
cheated in the formation of the government, he advised against revenge
on the action group.
3. Talking out of context: he warned foreign ministers of going abroad
and meddling into affairs of other ministries not under their purview.
At then and till now ministers were fond of touring the world on
baseless accounts, just because they had common wealth of the nation
at their control.

You see that those advice are still effective till this moment, and
should not be discarded in a hurry. That is why they say history is a
very good teacher.
