ANGER: TO WHAT END?

What other fabulous way to start a day rather than self examination, but this what many lack. And that is the void we are here to fill.
Anger just like any force of nature, is neutral, it only becomes what you make out of it. ('in every man there are two wolfs, the major deal is which do you feed?').
In recent times, we have been used to Negative channel of anger, that why when the discuss is mentioned involuntarily, the mind tends toward the negative and wish not to discuss. Wars, genocide, rape, Holocaust and other vises have resulted from this negative use. But need I remind you that God was angry at situation of man and hence came salvation (positive anger), Jesus was angry and cleaned the temple of those who defiled it, yet another positive channel.
Many are angry at the system and government, and they seek for vengeance, but this carried out negatively. I am. Angry that is why I have decided to educate, because there is a lacuna in the educational institution, which makes graduates dependent on the system which ought not to be.
Few weeks ago, I boarded a taxi, some few meters away on a slope, we ran into traffic and normal buses behing ought to give at least a meter distance away, but as the case was, it was bumper to fender.
As the driver tried to move forward the bus rolled back and hit the vehicle behind..
This sparked an argument and a brawl was started. The rate of damage wasn't up to N500, but at the end of the day led to a free for all fight, and casualties were recorded, with some loosing teeth and other had their head smashed.
And I thought to myself (cos no one would listen), if such energy were harnessed in chasing worthy goals.
Finally, I ask you "your anger to what end?".

PERSIST: IT'S WORTH IT

Today, many seek for mistakes of others, not paying attention to their shortcomings, we wish others accept the blame and not us. Bob Gass once said, some peoples idea of a good sermon is one that goes over their head and hits the next person right between the eyes.
How can you walk into a Doctors' office looking pale and shivers and tell him "my brother has got a problem".
We will in a few minutes stress on a key word many have refused to adhere to (thinking others are to blame), some misinterprets PERSISTENCE for STURBONNESS. Persistence is a virtue everyone ought to have in quest for achieving greatness. You can persist in your goals and visions without being stubborn.
You can humbly change people who see no good in what you do, by showing them through your persistent spirit and zeal, that goal can be achieved (your visions or goals should be good and beneficial to mankind and be in line with God's will). Stubborness usually sends a wrong message to those around you.
Achieving goals or dream can be likened to climbing stairs, once you step on the first what you should permit is upward and forward movement only, never wait for things to be perfect, because sweetheart they never will, persistence is keeps you moving up on the stairs of life.
Even christ persisted in midst of trials and claimed his glory.
You have got to make that move, success might just be a foot away.
Some time ago, I asked a friend while he never planned to do anything, he simply said "when the money comes, I will plan" (he was a moment man) and I told him when the money comes (if it will), it will do the thinking for him(QED).
Today's analog was shared by one of the greatest teachers to have lived on earth (Jesus).
A widow had lost all she had unjustly and decided to seek justice, ancient scripts recorded that a judge lived in her village and she went to him humbly, to ask for his help. On first attempt, he didn't grant her audience, that didn't deter her, rather her fire burnt even hotter. She kept going to plead and finally he felt she had come to much and then gave her justice.
Likewise was it told of a young black girl, who out of persistence got half a dollar off a hostile white man (in the era of black marginalia) when the white man screamed "leave my presence", she stood still and with a gentle voice made her request.
Even in his hostility, she stood firm and made her request gently, till she got the money off him.
Persistence is always accompanied with patience and endurance. Remember, your purpose is what defines you, never quit your dreams, quitters never win an winners never quit. Put yourself on a road to recovery of values and all good things.

UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY

'It is time and chance that happens to them all', this subject matter is so ambiqous that it would take a lot of painstaking analogy and illustrations to drive home the message, but I wil give it a fair shot.
Just as the earlier quote said, unique opportunity isn't what you know the exact timing but all you can do is to hope for your time to come and be able to identify it. The best explanation for it is when experienced by you.
For Peter in the scriptures, it was his encounter with Jesus of Nazareth, for Jim it was his encounter with Earl shoaf, for David Abioye it was his encounter with David Oyedepo and list goes on and on. The best I can say, is that is divinely orchestrated but this where the trouble is, for the fact I said 'divine' doesn't mean it can't pass you by if you aren't vigilant to notice it ( but that is not my wish for you my lovely readers and friends).
The student always comes out better and well equipped for the challenges and hurdles of life, like for Jim, he learnt that the problem wasn't the government of America neither was it the high taxes or the expensive nature of goods, but it was simply 'he was an American above thirty and was BROKE' that short changed his bargaining power. And that led to his self discovery and route to personal development and eventual change of philosophy (which many today require).
For Peter, his statues was elevated from fisher man to the messiahs' right handman. He answered a question others couldn't get and became the bedrock of the modern church and first pope, and so many other analogy we can't consider for time sake.
TIPS TO ENCOUNTER OPPORTUNITY
These are few I have discovered that works:
1. Read your Bible: this is most sold book in history (I stand to be corrected) it has a lot of stories and analogs of success and failure. It left for you to choose which you belong to. And know the state of your mind during study is a factor to the revelation you get.
2. Read other books: this can't be overflogged, there are a lot of them on different subject matter, my Boss once told me, whatever you want to learn teach your mind by studying about it. Virtually all I know I have thought myself to do.
3. Attend seminars and workshops: this is important, I heard Akin Alabi saying he had borrowed money to attend a seminar, likewise myself, it does you a lot of good to be self enhanced to recognise your opportunity. And did I mention that you have to buy your books not borrow, cos that is when you can read and re-read.
4. Seek out mentors: this is very important, as they easily show the ropes, someone once said you can climb on the back of giant and do great things.
This few tips I believe are enough for now. Till next time.

TOO WISE FOR YOUR OWN GOOD

Some individuals are too wise for their own good, you probably must have been around such people or you may even be such individual and get to be with your self every day and night. One notable thing about people of strong character or wise men, they see themselves as not been better than others but just privileged, and give a chance to learn from others and always be flexible, hence there is a chance they will add to their knowledge. Note that learning and study never ends.
